Rental Information

In order to make the booking and rental experience easier for you, we have outlined below rental information. Read on and you will find the most important points you should be aware of when renting a car from us:

Rental requirements

You should endeavour to return the car on-time, clean and undamaged. If you do not return the car on time, then we will apply a late return charge of one fifth of the daily rate for every hour in excess.

  1. Driver's age - minimum twenty-one (21) years old.
  2. Driver's licence - ALL NAMED drivers to have a valid, original driver’s license held for minimum of one (1) year.
  3. Identification - A valid national ID or passport.
  4. Deposit - a deposit for estimated charges is required at the beginning of the rental period with a minimum of €60.00 daily. No deposit is required from credit card holders.
  5. Minimum rental period - is one day (24-hours). Every hour in excess is calculated at one fifth of the daily rate.

General information

Some other information you should note

  1. Availability - we make every attempt to give you the car that you request however in exceptional cases we may need to supply another vehicle type.
  2. Fuel - fuel consumption is payable by the renter.
  3. Insurance - all authorised drivers of our vehicles are covered for death, injury or damage to property. The renter is responsible for the first €13,500 of any charge for collision damage of a rental car
  4. Collision damage waiver - The renter's responsibility for collision damage (refer point 4 above) can be waived by opting to pay an additional Collision Damage Waiver of between €8.00 - €15.00 per day provided the collision damage is not due to violation of the Greek Traffic Law. Any damage to tyres or the underneath of the vehicle is not covered by the insurance.
  5. Traffic fines - fines and associated administrative costs resulting from any violation of the Greek Law during the period of rental are for the sole account of the renter.
  6. Ferrying the car - Cars rented from us are not allowed to be driven off the island without advance written authorisation from Best Rent A Car.
  7. Taxes - all rates are subject to 13% VAT in Mykonos or 19% VAT in Athens.
  8. Credit cards - we accept VISA, Mastercard, American Express and Diners Club.

Car return process

You should endeavour to return the car on-time, clean and undamaged. If you do not return the car on time, then we will apply a late return charge of one fifth of the daily rate for every hour in excess.

  1. No refuelling required - Best Rent a Car operates an empty to empty policy with regard to fuel. Customers have no obligation to bring the car back containing any level of fuel.
  2. Inspection - upon return to the site we strongly recommend you to inspect the car's post rental condition with our staff.
